Like most hospitals, El Camino Hospital was cluttered with brochure racks, bulletin boards, and other forms of communication for patients, visitors, and staff, creating a cacophony of information. As part of the interior planning and design program for the replacement hospital, Millican Jones developed an integrated digital content and communications strategy that would address many of ECH's communication needs in a much more efficient and flexible way, especially appropriate for their highly tech-savvy community.
The integrated platform uses digital imagery and technology, combined with messaging, wayfinding, and scheduling systems. From art to information, the entire system is designed to communicate the hospital's message clearly and beautifully, literally incorporating and reinforcing the ECH brand into the fabric of bricks and mortar.
